  This garden is simply amazing. You could easily take a whole afternoon to explore the place! So many exotic plants and fruit trees: palms, bananas, avocados, mango, jackfruit, passion fruit and so many others!! There are a lot of peacocks you can observe and so many interesting corners in this massive garden: fountains, lakes, outdoor pavilions and hidden paths. Here's an insider tip: have the lumamba from their bar (hot chocolate with banana liquor) it's sooooo yuummy!

  Just 2 minutes drive from Arucas along the GC-330 towards the coast, is this little gem. MUCH better than the official Botanical Garden! And much easier to negotiate too.

  Drove over here specifically to visit the garden and it was closed for a private function with no obvious signage. It is also tricky to spot the entrance to the parking and looks like had it been open, you need to pay to enter (6 euro at time of writing). Given there is a free garden nearby I wouldn't make the trip.

  The garden is little known, although there are some coaches that drop off large parties. Mostly it can be very quiet. In low season, when they aren't expecting a coachload, they don't bother to staff the entrance kiosk. There's a bell to ring, but if they don't hear you, just start walking around. You'll soon meet a member of staff who'll sell you a ticket.

  The gardens are beautiful but they need a make up, for instance most botanic signs with names of trees and plants are missing.

  If you have a Garmin satnav it is actually programmed in. If not, start driving along the GC-330, be ready: the garden is on the RH side, in the "elbow" as the road bends left. There is a good car park.

  There is no public transport to get here, but if you have a hire-car, this is an excellent half day out.
